History By rising demand of the real estate community, the association began in 1995 as the National Roof Certification Association® (www.NRCA.us) for the purpose of developing the standards and code of ethics for which a roof certification could be issued. On Januray 10th, 2002, the United States Government granted the rights to NRCIA to issue LeakFREE® Roof Certifications. In 2008, the association licensed the rights to the patent pending process of inspection a roof and certifying a roof to be sustainable and remain LeakFREE® for a certification period. At that time, the association changed its charter and name to include inspections. Thus becoming the “National Roof and Inspection association. (www.NARIA.org) and (www.NARIA.com) In 2009 we re-launched the company to include all facets of roof certification, inspection and repair as NRCIA (pronounced in-er-sha). With the momentum of success behind us, our vision to provide a solid, longterm solution to the scattered and unregulated roofing industry has now become a reality. Our members are the top roofers in their regions, who undergo training in our certification and inspection protocols. We bring our expertise to ensure that no one rips off homeowners or is “out of business” when you need them most. NRCIA CHARTER The charter of the association is to perform VisualROOF® inspections for the real estate needs of buyers, sellers, insurance or mortgage companies. The purpose of an inspection is to protect the party from any unnecessary repair bills that can be prevented and to provide documentation to assure a buyer that the roof is in good condition. If a LeakFREE® Roof Certification is required, the inspection is used to ascertain through the associations inspection protocols if a roof meets the criteria and if it doesn’t, what repairs would be mandated so that it would meet the certification criteria. NRCIA PURPOSE The purpose of the association is to have a standards and a code of ethics that members adhere to so that homeowners, buyers, sellers, agents, lenders and insurance companies would be assured that a roof in which they have a financial interest wa s properly inspected and certified LeakFREE® thereby protecting their asset. The NRCIA utilizes a web based system for evidencing inspections, issuing and tracking LeakFREE® Roof Certifications to ensure the certification validity. NRCIA MEMBERS The NRCIA is the governance for its members. Although roofing companies are affiliated with the NRCIA, only individuals are licensed on a yearly basis to perform inspections and issue LeakFREE® Roof Certifications. Before an individual is allowed to join the association, they must complete the application and satisfy the membership committee that they are proficient in roofing knowledge and will adhere to the NRCIA standards and code of ethics. Members are rated on a 5 star system, and must provide top quality service in order to maintain their high ranking.
